Hi friends, do you believe in the peoples' freedom of movement?
My relationship with running as it relates to Palestine began early on in my running journey in 2022 when I came across the Palestine Marathon whose mission is to bring awareness to Palestinian life under apartheid and their lack of freedom of movement while also adding value to the Palestinian tourism sector & economy. I immediately knew it was a marathon I wanted to run! For me, running is inseparable from social activism and spiritual care.
As easy of an entry point there is to running, it simply is not an activity that's possible when one's freedom of movement is impinged upon. Instead of being able to run the Palestine Marathon this year, I will be running the 2024 Chicago Marathon as part of Team Palestine and raising funds for the Palestinian Children's Relief Fund.
