Dear Family and Friends,
As you all know I am no stranger when it comes to challenging myself to ride on my bike in order to help the unfortunate children of Palestine, this year it will be my fourth participation after having cycled in Jordan, Turkey and Germany. At the end of this month I am joining Cycling4Gaza (C4G), once again, where I will be cycling along side more than 50 other participants from all over the world, in Spain, for a 250km ride from Avila to Madrid.
C4G has once again chosen to partner with the Palestinian Children's Relief Fund (PCRF) an organisation that has significantly contributed to the provision of healthcare services in Gaza. This dedicated ride in Spain aims to raise over £200,000 in order to support the Gaza Mental Healthcare Project.
I am reaching out to you, my family and friends all over the world as I did before to support this initiative and I am sure that with your kind donations you will make a difference and will give hope to a child in need.
The 2014 war on Gaza left thousands of children injured not only physically but also psychologically. Today, approximately 373,000 children in Gaza suffer from emotional and psychological trauma and are in dire need of mental care support and reintegration into society.
The objective of the Gaza Mental Health Project is to assess children’s needs, provide them the service they require and to train social workers on administering screening questionnaires. Over 1,300 children have been screened by 5 field workers to date and their subsequent programs are currently being developed.
