Ramadan is upon us and it is a struggle.  And when you struggle you tend to empathaize with others that struggle as in the case of Gaza's orphans. The 2014 war in Gaza has left hundreds of children without parents. Aside from the emotional consequences of growing up without a mother's and/or father's love and nurturance - these children lack the basic life necessities needed to survive.  

To address this humanitarian injustice, the PCRF created a special Ramadan program called the Give Hope: Gaza Orphan Sponsorship campaign.  And I am participating by creating #hope4orphans through donating to this fund directly and providing an opportunity for others to contribute to this vital mission. 

The PCRF is my favorite American charity because it is consistently and independently rated 4-stars by Charity Navigator for transparency, accountability and efficiency.  This means that your donations will be allocated directly to the care of the children- not bureaucratic or administrative costs.  

The plight of an orphan is a special one in Islam.  God says that we must empathize for orphans as they are the most vulnerable and fragile in society. That it is our communal responsibility to ensure their safety and survival. So if you are able, please contribute to PCRF's efforts to help orphans directly receive the necessities they require and deserve to survive.  Help the scarred, emotionally-wounded, and neglected in humanity this Ramadan season.
