The Palestine Children's Relief Fund (PCRF) has dedicated its 2017 Ramadan fundraising campaign to the Gaza Orphan Sponsorship Program, a humanitarian initiative that was launched immediately after the 2014 attacks on Gaza to ensure that the livelihood and basic needs of the orphaned children are being met. The goal of Give Hope: Gaza Orphan Sponsorship Ramadan Campaign is to ensure that the orphan sponsorship program is sustainable for years to come, and to provide for the orphans in the program throughout their lives.

The cost of sponosring a child is $150/month, or $1800/year.  I'm asking you to help me support this program by making a donation. No amount is too small! If each one of us were to contribute $10, $20, $50, $100 together we would be able to sponsor 5 children. If each one of us were to share this fundraising page with our family and friends, we would be able to help even more children.

The orphans in Gaza need you to make a difference in their lives. Please give generously. IMPACT OF THE PROGRAM

Immediately after the 2014 assault on Gaza, the PCRF field workers began an extensive assessment effort in all of Gaza visiting houses, hospitals, and schools which became make-shift shelters for displaced families whose homes were destroyed. 155 children were identified as eligible for the program; this meant that they lost their fathers, and they were not registered to receive assistance by other organizations. In addition to losing the family’s main breadwinner, many of the orphans have also lost other members of the family including their mothers and siblings as well. These identified orphans began receiving economic assistance in the form of supermarket coupons in the amount of $135 a month, along with other humanitarian assistance as part of an urgent relief program that was implemented during war time. In addition to food, the children also received clothes, medicine and mental health assessment and treatment if needed, and necessary household supplies such as mattresses, stoves, heaters, etc. To this date, PCRF has invested nearly $700,000 feeding and ensuring that the needs of the 155 orphans and their families are being met.

GAZA ORPHAN SPONSORSHIP RAMADAN CAMPAIGN

In the summer of 2014, over 2,000 civilians were killed by air, land and sea assaults on the Gaza Strip, resulting in hundreds of orphaned children. In response to this crisis, the PCRF established a new humanitarian program to ensure that the livelihood of these children are being met. Our team of field workers will ensure that each sponsored child has their specific needs met by providing them food, or other non-political, humanitarian aid.
