WHAT IS PCRF? WHO ARE THEY?
PCRF STANDS FOR THE PALESTINE CHILDREN'S RELIEF FUND
They are a non-political, non-profit organization dedicated to healing the wounds of war and occupation in the Middle East. The main objective of the P.C.R.F. is to identify and treat every child in the Middle East in need of specialized surgery not available to them locally.
My sister ran the Chicago Marathon in 2017 and she is the person who convinced me that it was a great experience. She told me that it will take a great deal of mental and physical strength to finish the marathon and I haven’t had a doubt in my mind that I can do it. My family has been very supportive and have encouraged me to do the marathon on behalf of PCRF, just like my sister did. Running this marathon has now become SO much more than just something on my bucket list, or a physical fitness achievement, it is to support an AMAZING organization and raise awareness. Donating to my page and assisting me reach this fundraising goal will help children in the Middle East receive the medical care that they need to live! ABOUT TP4PCRF - BANK OF AMERICA CHICAGO MARATHON: OCTOBER 13, 2019
Since 2009, Team Palestine for the Palestine Children's Relief Fund (TP4PCRF) runs the Bank of America Chicago Marathon to help raise funds for various projects and centers to help children in Palestine and the Middle East. Runners from all over the world join together in Chicago to create awareness and celebrate their fundraising efforts by running 26.2 miles, and 2019 will be no different. Team members train for almost one year, while raising funds to help build Gaza's first pediatric cancer center, the Dr. Musa and Suhaila Nasir Gaza Pediatric Cancer Department. Since Team Palestine's inception, they have helped fundraise to help children receive necessary treatments to restore health and peace of mind. The Bank of America Chicago Marathon is one of the world's premier marathons and one of the best way to show millions of spectators and thousands of runners the power of Team Palestine, PCRF and what a donation can do. The Palestine Children's Relief Fund (PCRF) will receive TP4PCRF efforts for the Dr. Musa and Suhaila Gaza Pediatric Cancer Department that is planned to be built in the next two years in the Gaza Strip will serve as the first and only cancer treatment facility providing children in Gaza who are suffering from cancer with the treatment they desperately need for free. It's the largest ever 100% privately funded project in Palestine with the Ministry of Health. The PCRF was established in 1991 to help address the medical and humanitarian crisis facing Palestinian youth in the middle East and has become the largest provider of free, specialized surgical care to all children regardless of their race, religion or ethnic background. The PCRF has been awarded the top 4-star rating by Charity Navigator for fiscal management, while being able to treat more kids than any other charity in the Middle East and is 501(c)3 tax exempt.
