Like many Palestinians in the diaspora, especially those who are fortunate enough to have found success outside of our homeland, I have always wanted to find ways to give back to my people.

We started the “Al Tumayr” initiative with the goal of raising donations for charitable organizations that support the livelihood of Palestinians. We partner with designers to create jewelry and clothing that represent the Palestinian people and emulates the beauty of the Palestine sunbird, Al Tumayr. The sunbird plays a vital role in spreading pollen and maintaining a vibrant ecosystem, and similarly, our ultimate goal is to preserve and enrich the communities Palestinians live in, no matter where they are.

Over the last few years, we have supported by donating our proceeds to many organizations that aid the medical care and education of refugees. Today, as we reach our 10,000th follower and at a time when the people in Gaza will need to rebuild their communities and revive their shattered dreams, we invite our AlTumayr family to contribute to our 10K fundraiser. Any amount will be much appreciated. Together, we can make a difference.

The one million children of Gaza live in a continuous humanitarian crisis, with no clean water, little electricity, poor health services, and food insecurity. For 30 years, PCRF has been on the ground providing a variety of direct humanitarian aid programs for thousands of sick and injured children in the enclave. These include sending hundreds of injured and sick kids abroad for free medical care, sponsoring hundreds of international volunteer doctors and nurses to go there each year to treat children and train local doctors, building Gaza's first and only pediatric oncology department, and running several different humanitarian programs and projects on the ground.
