All throughout my life, I have always lived by a set of rules that shaped who I am today,  one of these core rules is “Pay It Forward” (help out when you can and expect nothing in return except the joy of giving and that this help will be paid forward by the person you helped to someone in need in the future). I have been at the receiving end of this relation many times in my life by being granted scholarships for my studies and by having the privilege of knowing people who have stood by and supported me in times of need. Now it is time for me pay this debt forward to those who are most deserving.

I’m planning on climbing Mount Elburs this year (one of the world seven summits) and I would like to dedicate this climb to PCRF. Over the last couple of years I had the chance to participate in multiple challenges from embarking on adventure trips, bungee jumping, climbing mount Kilimanjaro, setting foot in a wild life safaris in Africa, visiting the Pyramids to running International Athlons.

Climber 2: Rama Al Jayyousi

So here we go again! As a mother of 3, this is my 3rd mountain, my 3rd charity fund raising project, and my 3rd attempt at giving someone hope for a better life....my only motivation and reason behind wanting to climb over and over again…

My name is Rama Al Jayyousi and I aim to summit Mt. Elbrus in Russia, the highest peak in Europe, on the 21st August 2015. (Mount Elbrus is a dormant volcano, beautifully positioned in the western Caucasus Mountains in Russia, standing at 5,642m).

This time, I have decided to dedicate this climb, through PCRF, to all Syrian children who have been deprived and stripped of their basic need to survive as normal kids.

I thank the PCRF (Palestinian Children Relief Fund) for being such an incredible charity organization that goes beyond any means to provide medical aid to incredible number of children and for facilitating this specific relief project for Syrian Children that is personally very close to my heart.

Palestinian with a Syrian mother, grew up in Dubai, a mother of 3. This is Rama’s 3^rd summit for PCRF, the first in 2006 with 10 brave women on Mount Toubkal, Atlas Mountains, the highest peak in Arabia and North Africa. That expedition was dedicated to PCRF’s women empowerment program, as a symbolic act of empowering Arab Women. Funds raised were donated to Palestinian women, widowed or single with dependent children, based in a refugee camp in Lebanon, to help them set up an embroidery project to provide them with an income to take care of themselves and their children. The second in 2012, when she summited Mount Kilimanjaro, highest peak in Africa, as part of a group of 12, to raise money for a Cancer Pediatric Center in Beit Jala, Palestine.
