Ezzeldin is a Syrian refugee living with his parents in Arsal refugee camp in Lebanon. He was born on the 17th August 2017. He is just a few weeks short of one year old. 

Baby Ezzzeldin was diagnosed with hydrocephalus which is an abnormal buildup of cerebrospinal fluids in the brain, which results in an abnormal widening of spaces in the brain called ventricles and creates harmful pressure on the tissues of the brain. Hydrocephalus can cause convulsions and brain damage, and the symptoms get worse the longer it is left untreated - which can cause cognitive and learning disabilities. Ezzeldin has not yet begun to crawl or walk due to his condition, and has lately lost almost all apetite. The outlook for a patient with hydrocephalus depends mainly on how quickly the condition is diagnosed and treated -  but with the right treatment, followup and interventions can lead relatively normal lives. 

The PCRF team in Lebanon have been working hard to facilitate his treatment at the American University Hospital in Beirut, but he requires an expensive surgery that will cost 12,000 USD. We have budgeted part of the costs of the surgery but have not been able to cover all of it  Since we cannot cover the costs fully by ourselves, we are reaching out to you for help.

We are reaching out to you and to all of volunteers to help make this little boy's surgery happen as quickly as possible in order to limit the damage to his brain and enable him to grow up into a normal child and lead the normal life he deserves.

Over the past few years, over 100,000 civilians have been killed in Syria, many of them innocent children.  Many more have been injured and required specialized medical care that they cannot get in their war-torn country.  The PCRF has launched a special campaign to identify these children and get them the medical care that they need to recover from their injuries.  The PCRF is working to help any child in the Middle East, regardless of nationality or religion, get the best care possible, and hope that you can support this campaign to heal the lives of these poor children.
