My name is Humza, and together, we are going to raise $20,000 for Palestine.

These past few years have been some of the most difficult times in modern history. The pandemic, social injustices, and acts of senseless violence have become headlines we see everyday. The cycle of dystopia has impacted all of us drastically, and one component particularly impacted has been our mental health. 

Mental health is important because it includes your emotional, psychological, and social well-being. Your mental health is a determining factor for how your everyday interactions play out  because your mental health relates to how you handle stress, relate to others, and make healthy choices. Mental health is absolutely critical in every stage of life. Whether you are a toddler, teenager, young adult, or older adult, your mental health affects your overall feelings of happiness and satisfaction in life. It affects your resilience to bounce back and recover from hardships that you will inevitably face through your life. It is difficult to truly quantify the impacts of violence on the psychological well-being of a human, but what we can do is to make sure that we can do our part in fighting back against social injustices.

While we have gotten to a place where we can advance our understanding of mental health, and how we can better address it, many nations are unable to have their most basic needs met when it comes to mental health care. Countries such as Palestine, which have been under the stresses of war for decades, are not able to have these needs met, and that is where we can help.

For this year’s project, WE are partnering with the Gaza Pediatric Mental Health Initiative, and are going to raise $20,000 to provide Mental Health Resources for Palestinian Refugees. Any donation whether it be financially, or by sharing this fundraiser within your social circles helps.

As a community we were able to raise over $10,000 last year to provide medical support for refugees at the Safad Refugee hospital in Tripoli, Lebanon. I've seen the strength of our community and now we are here to once again have an impact and provide for our brothers and sisters in Palestine.
