Hello everyone,
I'll be running my first marathon later this month to raise funds for the Palestine Children Relief Fund (PCRF), an organization dedicated to providing medical and humanitarian relief to children throughout the Middleeast. The goal of this fundraiser is to contribute to the PCRFs Gaza Amputee Project, to support children in Gaza suffering from congenital or traumatic limb amputations.
As Palestinian born in Gaza and raised in the United States, I understand and appreciate the privilege of being able to go to school, hang out with friends, and plan for my future without fear of war or violence. Children who only wish to grow up and pursue their passions as artists and scientists are forced to live with these harsh realities everyday. For many of these Gazan children, not only has the ongoing violence resulted in the death of those they hold most dear, but also injuries requiring traumatic amputations. Help me in supporting a cause to give back to these children the ability to live in and interact with this world that we take for granted.
The ability to live freely, pursue one's goals, and run for a cause is something precious, and something that many children in Gaza have had taken away from them. As a researcher in assistive robotics, a proud Gazan, and a human being, this cause is one that I hope you will all open your hearts to and support. Please donate as much as you can, no amount is too little or too much.
We are a group of students from Georgia Tech Muslim Student Association & Arab Student Organization and we are very excited to announce that we will be running in the Atlanta Publix Race weekend (Feb 26 & 27) to raise awareness and funds for Palestine Children Relief Fund (PCRF) to provide medical and humanitarian relief to children throughout the Levant, regardless of their nationality, politics, or religion.
For the Atlanta Publix Marathon weekend, our team will specifically be raising funds for the Gaza Amputee Project (learn more about the project here). Help us support this project and show our care for children in Gaza suffering from congenital or traumatic limb amputations.
For many of us, this is our first race or marathon. We've spent the last few months training, encouraging, and supporting each other towards our running goals and we hope that you will encourage and support us in this endeavor for the well-being of the children of Palestine. No amount is too little. Thank you! ❤️
