I'm thrilled to be running my first half marathon in support of the Palestine Children's Relief Fund (PCRF) on February 27, 2022! For the past few months, perseverance has been a frequent asset to me; for the children of Palestine, it is a necessary, ingrained response. The funds from this campaign will go specifically to the Gaza Amputee Fund to support children suffering from congenital or traumatic limb amputations (learn more here). PCRF is a non-profit, non-political organization dedicated to providing specialized and free humanitarian aid to children in the Middle East regardless of nationality, religion, or politics. Your donations will send children abroad for care they may not have received at home, bolster local care providers, and even provide mental health support for amputees.
Please consider donating $13.10 for the race distance, $27.02 in honor of the race date, or any amount of your choice--no donation is too small!
Like many of my fellow runners, this will be my first half marathon; however, I'm the youngest of our crew and have never competed on my school's cross country or track team. A huge thank you to GT MSA for welcoming me aboard, and to all the friends, family, and mentors who have supported me through every stride of this journey. Onward to race day and to $1300 for PCRF! :D
We are a group of students from Georgia Tech Muslim Student Association & Arab Student Organization and we are very excited to announce that we will be running in the Atlanta Publix Race weekend (Feb 26 & 27) to raise awareness and funds for Palestine Children Relief Fund (PCRF) to provide medical and humanitarian relief to children throughout the Levant, regardless of their nationality, politics, or religion.
For the Atlanta Publix Marathon weekend, our team will specifically be raising funds for the Gaza Amputee Project (learn more about the project here). Help us support this project and show our care for children in Gaza suffering from congenital or traumatic limb amputations.
For many of us, this is our first race or marathon. We've spent the last few months training, encouraging, and supporting each other towards our running goals and we hope that you will encourage and support us in this endeavor for the well-being of the children of Palestine. No amount is too little. Thank you! ❤️
