I am very excited to announce that I will be running my first half marathon for the Palestine Children Relief Fund to support free medical care to children in the Middle East. The funds for this half marathon will go specifically towards the Gaza Amputee Project to support children in Gaza suffering from congenital or traumatic limb amputations.
As a runner, I feel blessed to have the ability to run, and I would love to help the children in Gaza run, walk, and perform their daily tasks at ease. The Gaza Amputee Project ensures that the amputee children in Gaza will receive the care they need to be mobile again by bringing them together as a community for treatment - in many cases sending them abroad for free care that they could not get at home - while also working with Hamid Rehabilitation Hospital in Gaza City to help them get care locally. My fundraising goal is $1,310 since half a marathon is 13.1 miles. Please consider donating $13.10 or sponsoring a mile by donating $100. You are also more than welcome to donate any amount of your choosing -- no amount is too big or too small :)!
The PCRF is certified non-profit, non-political organization dedicated to providing specialized treatment to children throughout the Middle East, as well as training doctors and finding ways to create long-term solutions to improve healthcare in the ME. Learn more here.
We are a group of students from Georgia Tech Muslim Student Association & Arab Student Organization and we are very excited to announce that we will be running in the Atlanta Publix Race weekend (Feb 26 & 27) to raise awareness and funds for Palestine Children Relief Fund (PCRF) to provide medical and humanitarian relief to children throughout the Levant, regardless of their nationality, politics, or religion.
For the Atlanta Publix Marathon weekend, our team will specifically be raising funds for the Gaza Amputee Project (learn more about the project here). Help us support this project and show our care for children in Gaza suffering from congenital or traumatic limb amputations.
For many of us, this is our first race or marathon. We've spent the last few months training, encouraging, and supporting each other towards our running goals and we hope that you will encourage and support us in this endeavor for the well-being of the children of Palestine.
