My name is Michael Holmes and I will be running my third Chicago Marathon for PCRF. I have been a lifelong runner and welcome the opportunity to help raise funds for this exceptional organization. I grew up in Chicagoland and became a runner after battling childhood Perthes disease for six years. Once off crutches, I became an avid soccer fan and, eventually, captain of both my high school and college soccer teams.  I am now a retired teacher with 35 years of coaching both high school varsity soccer and middle school soccer and cross country. I am happy to be able to dedicate my running efforts to a cause that helps children. It has been a privilege to run with Chicago's Team PCRF. I appreciate the kindness and hospitality of my teammates in welcoming me to Team PCRF. My fellow runners are devoted in their efforts to support children and their families. I am happy to make my own contribution to those efforts .
