Bismillah, I am thrilled to announce that I will be running the 2023 Chicago Marathon for Palestine Children's Relief Fund (PCRF) inshaAllah!
As some of you may know, this past year I trained for my first full marathon and leading up to that day I became sick and had to skip my marathon. I was pretty bummed out since I had invested months into training but knew it was the right thing to do for my health. I am not going to lie, just the thought of having to retrain for another race wasn't something I was willing to explore until I heard that I could support an organization that was near and dear to my heart..I couldn't sit this one out. PCRF will give me the opportunity to complete my goal but with a more meaningful purpose to why I am running and would love you to be part of my experience!
This year PCRF will be using the donations to fund the establishment of a cardiac cath unit at the European Gaza Hospital in South Gaza - a critical and life saving addition for the whole region.
Their overall goal for this project is $1.5M, being part of Team Palestine my minimum will be to raise $1,750 but I really think we can raise so much more iA. Your donation is zakat eligible and as the Prophet Muhammad S.A.W said “The charity you give will be your shade on the Day of Judgement" so give as much as you can and may Allah accept your efforts, JAK!
Project Goals:
1. Improving the care provided for the pediatric and adult cardiac patients and offering them the optimum care
2. Developing and improving the cardiac department at the European Gaza Hospital (EGH)
3. Facilitating the cardiac missions that are host at the EGH and sponsored by PCRF
