Greetings everyone,
I am very thankful and eager to run in the Atlanta Marathon for the second year in a row. Running is a passion I have had since I was young, and participating in my high school cross country team taught me many valuable, translatable skills such as perseverance, leadership, and thankfulness. Nevertheless, I know that these qualities are better exemplified by the millions of people enduring hardships in Palestine and the Middle East.
I am running to raise funds for Palestine Children Relief Fund (PCRF), an organization committed to provide free medical care and humanitarian relief to the injured and sick children in the Middle East. More specifically, the money will go to support the Pediatric Cancer Departments, an initiative which helps provide the necessary infrastructure and expert medical care (both physical and psychological) to hundreds of children with cancer. Many children at very young ages are diagnosed with cancers like leukemia, and without the services provided by the pediatric cancer departments, these children have to travel alone, far away from family and friends, for treatment. Your support does more than simply cover the costs of treatment; it gives children the comfort of their homes and hope as they battle through cancer. Their struggles are difficult for us to comprehend, but we can change that by relieving some of their troubles. Please consider donating, for any quantity, large or small, is greatly appreciated.
We are a group of students from Georgia Tech Muslim Student Association (MSA) & Arab Student Organization (ASO), and we are excited to announce that we will be running in the Atlanta Publix Race weekend (Feb 25 & 26) for the second year straight to raise awareness and funds for Palestine Children Relief Fund (PCRF). PCRF organizes many project initiatives providing medical and humanitarian relief to children throughout the Levant, regardless of their nationality, politics, or religion.
For the Atlanta Publix Marathon weekend, our team will specifically be raising funds for the Pediatric Cancer Departments. Help us support the humanitarian project to provide expert medical care to the hundreds of sick children in the Middle East.
Although we have many new runners this year, a good portion of us are returning runners from last year. Alhamdulillah, last year we raised over $13,000. We are hoping to raise even more this year, but we cannot achieve this without your support. We've spent the last few months training, encouraging, and supporting each other toward our running goals, and we hope that you will reward and support us in this endeavor for the well-being of the children of Palestine. No amount is too little.
Thank you!
