Later this month, I’ll be running a marathon to raise funds for the Palestine Children Relief Fund (PCRF), an organization dedicated to providing medical and humanitarian relief to children throughout the Levant, regardless of their nationality, politics or religion. With everyone’s incredible support, our group was able to raise over 13,000 dollars for the PCRF Gaza Amputee Project. Our goal this year is to raise funds for the PCRF’s Pediatric Cancer Departments. 

As Palestinian born in Gaza and raised in the United States, I understand and appreciate the privilege of having had consistent access to health care systems and facilities throughout my life. Children raised in the West Bank and Gaza do not share this luxury. Instead, if a child is diagnosed with Cancer or suffering from a chronic illness, they may not find the facilities or resources they need, or find them demolished by airstrikes. None of these children should be denied treatment based on the unjust conditions they live under, and the PCRF is the main nonprofit in the world providing cancer services for them. 

The ability to live and look to the future with hope rather than fear is something that many children in Gaza have had taken away from them. As a proud Gazan, and a human being, this cause is one that I hope you will all open your hearts to and support as much as you can.

We are a group of students from Georgia Tech Muslim Student Association (MSA) & Arab Student Organization (ASO), and we are excited to announce that we will be running in the Atlanta Publix Race weekend (Feb 25 & 26) for the second year straight to raise awareness and funds for Palestine Children Relief Fund (PCRF). PCRF organizes many project initiatives providing medical and humanitarian relief to children throughout the Levant, regardless of their nationality, politics, or religion.

For the Atlanta Publix Marathon weekend, our team will specifically be raising funds for the Pediatric Cancer Departments. Help us support the humanitarian project to provide expert medical care to the hundreds of sick children in the Middle East.

Although we have many new runners this year, a good portion of us are returning runners from last year. Alhamdulillah, last year we raised over $13,000. We are hoping to raise even more this year, but we cannot achieve this without your support. We've spent the last few months training, encouraging, and supporting each other toward our running goals, and we hope that you will reward and support us in this endeavor for the well-being of the children of Palestine. No amount is too little.
