A catastrophe of unprecedented proportions is unfolding in what many refer to as “the most densely populated territory on earth”…the Gaza Strip. Over the course of the last weeks, Gaza has plunged into a deep trail of destruction and unimaginable human suffering. The non-stop Israeli military bombardment of the civilian population in Gaza has claimed thousands of lives, men, women, and children. Doctors and medical staff have been working around the clock, faced with the grim reality that their medical infrastructure will collapse under an inhumane seige where water, food, fuel, and medical supplies are prohibited from entering Gaza. At this moment, neonates are at risk of dying because their incubators will stop working, doctors are operating on children with life altering injuries without anesthesia and only with phone lights, dressings are being reused after people succumb to their injuries, chemotherapy is non-existent so cancer patients (primarily children) will succumb to their cancer.
