Welcome to my Fundraiser page for the Holy Buckets 4 Peace, thank you for being here <3. In late October 2023, I had just put my 5 mos old baby down for bed and came across a picture of a 9 mos baby from Gaza in a shroud. It was early in the conflict and yet the children of Gaza (and their parents) had already suffered so, so much. The picture stopped me in my tracks and brought me to tears. I could not stop thinking about how that baby's mother's pregnancy had overlapped with my own pregnancy - we had held our babies in our bodies at the same time with similar hopes and excitement. How cruel and unfair that this baby's mother lost her baby while mine was healthy and whole and in my arms. No mother or parent should bear such grief.

In the nearly two years that have ensued since then, I've continued to witness the murder, maiming, and starvation of the babies, children, and families of Gaza, which now claims the largest pediatric amputee cohort in the world. I cannot fathom what it must be to be a parent in Gaza, witnessing their child's pain, hunger, or loss. I have donated, I have made calls to my representatives, and as the devastating news continues to roll in, I am at a loss for what to do. So, I'm going to run a 5k - which is something I've never been interested in doing in my entire life and, in fact, have studiously avoided running quite well. However, I saw this run and I decided that if I were to run for ANYTHING, running in community with others who care about the children and family and people of Gaza is more than worth it. 

All donations from this 5k go to the Palestinian Children's Relief Fund which works tirelessly to bring medical care and treatment to Palestinian children affected by the ongoing attacks and mass starvation of Israel against Gaza. Please consider making a donation and cheering me on as I run a race, willingly, for the first time in my adult life. And, please contact your representatives to demand a ceasefire in Gaza <3.
