May His peace, mercy, and blessings be upon us all.

I would first like to thank you for making the time and effort to come to this page. Insha’Allah, if God wills, I will be running in my first Chicago Marathon this October. This will be my first full marathon and one that I look forward to completing not only for myself but in support of the Palestine Children’s Relief Fund, insha’Allah. 

As a Palestinian myself, it is a great honor to have the opportunity to raise awareness of and funds for the Palestinian children that have no voice or platform of their own.  These children have no control over the circumstances forced upon them, their well-being, their next meal, their next shower, or their medical care. As we continue to fight for an immediate and permanent ceasefire, and, ultimately, full liberation, the children of Palestine face dire circumstances, such as disease, malnutrition, and starvation, as they are cut from clean water, food, and medical care. The persistent bombing has followed children and their families to places they have sought refuge, like hospitals and places of worship, leaving them with nowhere to escape.  

I will be running this marathon with a heavy heart, but my mission with the Palestine Children's Relief Fund gives this marathon purpose.  Running gives me a sense of calmness and relief. Every mile is hard, every mile is earned, and every mile has a purpose. When I run, I build my confidence and achieve personal goals I never could have imagined for myself. As soon as I start to feel the tempo of the run, my heartbeat, my shoes hitting the pathway, and the sounds surrounding me, all my worries and anxieties dissipate, and I free myself from the pressures of everyday life. I wish that feeling for every suffering Palestinian child. They deserve lives free from worry and full of happiness and laughter.

The Palestine Children’s Relief Fund works to provide medical care and humanitarian relief to those in need. As a registered 501(c)(3) non-governmental organization with 25 chapters around the world, the funds raised primarily focus on immediate relief, including providing essential medical supplies, medical treatment, food, clean water, and other necessities for families affected by the conflict. PCRF also supports rebuilding healthcare facilities and providing long-term support through impactful programs and projects to support the needs of children in Palestine.
