I'm running in the Tarheel 10 Miler/Fleet Feet 4 Miler on April 23, 2016 in Chapel Hill, NC to raise awareness and fund raise for children in the Middle East who don't have access to life-saving health services.
Last year, I had the privilege to witness the completely selfless work being done by Palestinians living under occupation and international volunteer medical teams that take time away from their families to travel to Palestine and care for people that do not have the right to travel. This work is being coordinated by The Palestine Children's Relief Fund (a 4-star rated organization on Charity Navigator) that treats children who do not have the ability to pay regardless of their religion and national identity.
We had a chance to meet the little boy in the picture who is suffering from cancer and could care less about our cameras, recorders, or stories.

Our kids - Black, White, Palestinian, Israeli, Christian, Jewish, or Muslim - were not born racsit or hate-filled. That is something we have taught them. Let's teach them something else.

P.S. This money will be used to build a Pediatric Cancer Center in Gaza because currently there are ZERO Pediatric Oncologists or centers for a population of ~2 million people.
Where The Money Goes:
Palestine Children's Relief Fund (PCRF) is a registered non-political, non-profit, 501(c)3 tax-exempt organization dedicated to healing the wounds of war, occupation and poverty for children in the Middle East, regardless of their nationality, religion, race or gender. The amount fundraised will go towards 1) sending volunteer teams of surgeons and other medical personnel to treat patients and train professionals at local hospitals in the Middle East, 2) providing specialized medical care for sick and injured children in the Middle East by arranging cost-free treatment for them abroad*, 3) establishing and maintaining humanitarian aid projects--some of which have been summer camps, building a hospital, distributing food, milk, winter clothes, shoes, wheelchairs and eye glasses, installing hearing aids, etc. For more information on PCRF, please visit: http://www.pcrf.net/.
