There are over 500 Gaza babies born each year with defective hearts who need immediate medical attention and diagnosis. The current public health sector lacks the equipment and infrastructure to provide these sick babies adequate care as a first step in then providing invasive medical or surgical care. PCRF plans to build a new pediatric cardiology department at the Rantisi Specialized Pediatric Hospital in Gaza City, where we have already completed a multi-million dollar pediatric oncology department, and which will serve as a center for these sick children to have professional access to care that they current lack, and save hundreds of children's lives annually.
