My name is Skylar, and Tallulah the dog is my sidekick. Together, we are attempting to hike the entire 358-mile Long Path from NYC through Upstate New York. While we are walking, we are also fundraising for the Palestine Children’s Relief Fund (PCRF).

I am an early childhood educator and a committed childhood advocate. It is because I once was a young child navigating an adult world and wishing for a helping hand that I am driven to support, respect, appreciate and stand up for young children today.
You were once a young child, too.

Almost two years ago, in the autumn months of 2023, I began to bear witness:
I saw the frightened children of Gaza and in the West Bank who were suffering and struggling to survive.

Throughout 2024 I continued to bear witness and I saw children who were harmed, malnourished and crying out for help. I saw children living in fear, and I saw children who did not survive.

At this very moment in the spring of 2025, I see children in Gaza who are being intentionally starved to death.
This is unacceptable.

Each and every child requires and is deserving of protection and safety.

Children do not get to choose.
We have to choose them.

If we can bear witness and be present, then we can meet this crisis directly.

If our eyes are open to injustice, we can feel inspired to work towards righting the wrongs that we see.

If each of us can remember the vulnerability of our younger child selves, we can seek actionable efforts and choose to support these children - whose needs are urgent.
The time is NOW.

The Palestine Children’s Relief Fund (PCRF) is not a political or religious organization. Their Gaza Relief and Recovery fundraising campaign provides urgent aid and supports long-term recovery in Gaza. Funds will supply medical aid, treatment, food, water, and necessities for affected families. They also focus on rebuilding healthcare facilities, and funding trauma counseling and mental health services to foster healing in the community. PCRF relies on charitable giving in order to provide medical treatment, surgeries, safety, shelter, and support to children and their families who are collectively suffering from this crisis.

As Tallulah and I journey through our landscape freely and at-will, we are walking in solidarity with the young children in Gaza and all peoples of Palestine who cannot freely move towards safety nor run away from danger.

Our "Gaza Relief and Recovery" campaign aims to address urgent humanitarian needs and support long-term recovery efforts in Gaza. The funds raised will primarily focus on immediate relief, including providing essential medical supplies, food, medical treatment, clean water, and other necessities for families affected by the conflict. Additionally, our campaign will support rebuilding healthcare facilities and providing long-term support through impactful programs and projects to support the needs of children and the health sector in Gaza. It will also allocate resources towards trauma counseling, mental health support, and other initiatives for children affected by the conflict, aiming to foster healing and resilience within the community.
